Melt Bar & Grilled

Whenever traveling to other cities, food is generally a main focus when planning the trip. One thing I like to do is look up where Adam Richman from Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food” has been. While I have little interest in the challenges themselves, I find that many times the food that the challenges are based on look really interesting, delicious, and often unique. One such place exists in Lakewood, OH, where a recent trip to visit family brought me to the area.

Melt Bar & Grilled is TripAdvisor’s #3 out of 113 restaurants in Lakewood, which was the original of five locations to eventually open. Melt is a very popular place in the Cleveland area, and many patrons are known to wait over two hours for a table. Based on the reviews, an hour or longer wait is not uncommon on most days. Maybe we were lucky, but my wife had taken me here once before, and both times we showed up as they opened and got seated immediately.

Trip Report: Savannah, GA (June, 2013) Day 2: 11:15 a.m. Zunzi’s

This morning started with breakfast at Henry’s, which was on the other side of the block from our hotel.

I didn’t bring my camera because after looking at their menu in our hotel room, there didn’t seem to be anything special worth photographing. It wasn’t until we got home that I regretted that decision. Not because the food was anything special, it wasn’t. I remembered my reasoning for these reviews, while they may be helpful to those of you reading, they’re really meant for me. They’re a way for me to keep a record of places I’ve been and foods I’ve eaten. This is useful for entertainment purposes looking back and seeing some great eats, but also to help me decide whether or not to go back to a place, and if I do, what might be a good or bad choice on what to order. Trip Report: Disney World (April 2013, Day 4)

8:40 a.m. Boma Breakfast

It was our last day at Disney. Today we would not be going into the actual parks, and needed to head home early in the afternoon so this will just include breakfast and lunch. All food eaten today would be at the resort hotels or Downtown Disney. On our last visit to Disney we ate at Boma, which is promoted as Flavors of Africa. It was an amazing buffet dinner with a lot of unique foods, including some “African” twists on more familiar foods. I was excited to try Boma for breakfast, especially after reading of their more than 45 items included in the buffet. I was curious to see how the “flavor of Africa” would be infused with breakfast foods.

Boma is located in the Jambo House, which is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We got seated and I immediately went to work. Because this was a buffet, the reviews will be a little shorter and to the point. There would be a lot of individual items being consumed.
